What is the Couples Series Format ?    The Couples Series is a team format:  one female and one male on each team.
How do I register for a tournament ?    An ABA Membership is required (LINK).   A Family Membership is typical for a Couples Series Team ($55/year).   This can be paid at the ramp on the morning of your first tournament.  On-line registration is also an option:
What are the tournament fees ?   Tournament entry fees are $100.   This can be paid at the ramp or in advance on-line:
An optional Big Fish pot is also available:  $5 each for the Mens and Ladies Big Bass, paid at the ramp.
What can I expect on tournament day ?    There is a mandatory safety-rules briefing before blast-off at the ramp on tournament morning.   At least one team member must be present for the briefing.  Expect an 8-hour tournament day.  The blast-off and weigh-in times are set by the Division Directors.   Directors for the division in which you are interested are listed on the Couples Series web-site:
Is there an age requirement for the Couples Series ?   A team competitor must be at least 12 years of age.  Anglers between 12 and 18 years of age must have a parent’s written consent to participate.  Competitors less than 14 must wear a life jacket whenever in the boat.
How do I qualify for the American Couples Series Championship ?    The top 200 teams nationally will be invited to compete in the American Couples Series Championship.  Qualification requires that teams must have fished in at least three divisional events.
What are insurance requirements for an ABA tournament ?    The boat operator must have proof of a minimum of $100,000 per occurrence boating liability insurance.
Is there an off-limits before a Couples Series Tournament ?   During regular season events, there are no off-limits or official practice days.   In the post season, ABA may establish off-limits and official practice days which may be posted separately.
